New Years Day

I didn’t go out New Years Eve. We were supposed to spend the evening in, with fillet steak, red wine and vanilla slices to finish the night off but Josh decided to go out with my Dad and Brother, so I saw the New Year in on my own watching John Wick 3. I was determined to wake up early and witness the first sunrise of 2020, so I went on a nice quiet walk up the fell and I did just that. It was so peaceful, the birds were singing and it was surprisingly warm. There was only one other walker out on the hills, she was sat on the trig watching the sun come up as I reached the top of Winder. I was surprised there weren’t any more walkers out but I guess most were hung over or had plans for the day.

It’s become a bit of a family tradition of ours that we spend NYD in Kirkby Lonsdale. Our first stop is always The Royal. It was absolutely rammed but we did manage to get a seat.

I asked Josh to get some photos for my Instagram because I never do my make up or wear anything nice these days. It’s a new year resolution of mine to make more of an effort with my appearance. It’s just so difficult when you can go to work in leggings and big baggy jumpers and then spend the rest of your time either working on the house, at the gym or lounging around at home.

I actually bought myself a new dress to wear but unfortunately it looked like a tent and was not me at all, so I wore my black blazer, black trousers, printed t-shirt and a pair of heels. My Mum got me this little cross body bag for Christmas.

Can’t believe I’ve been with this one 6 years already. We’ve changed so much and grown up together in that time, I’m so looking forward to what 2020 has in store for us.

Here we are, 2020. It sounds so futuristic doesn’t it? What are your hopes, dreams and plans for the year? Mine aren’t anything too unrealistic, I just hope that my loved ones are happy, healthy and have plenty of money, haha! I spent NYE writing all mine down which I’m going to stick in an envelope and open them before the new year (2021). The obvious ones would be 1. to lose weight, tone up and get fit. I’d love to be able to run regularly, without having to stop every 2 minutes to catch my breath. 2. spend less time on my phone. I’m giving myself an 8pm curfew for when I’m sat at home and I’m going to put my phone away from wherever I am. I’ll only check it before I go to bed for any messages. 3. witness more sunrises, which means waking up earlier and getting out the house before the sun makes an appearance. I’ve realised that being out in the fresh air is really good for my head. I think about things and talk to myself about whatever I may be feeling, thinking etc. Not out loud but just in my head to myself. I get really lost in thought and it’s just so good to start the day that way. I do have a lot more resolutions but I don’t want to share them just yet, as I feel it may jinx them. Hopefully it doesn’t jinx the three I have just shared because I’m so ready to make some changes in my life. Anyway, I hope you all had a wonderful New Year, whatever it was you decided to do. Speak soon, L.
