Angle Tarn and Place Fell

Our walk began from Patterdale. It was a beautiful Spring like morning. The air was fresh and the roads were quiet. We parked opposite the Patterdale Hotel which was £4.50 for the whole day. The machine doesn’t take card or notes though, so you’ll need a bag of change!

Helvellyn looking absolutely stunning.

From the car park, head towards Side Farm. I’m sure that this is a fairly popular camping spot for families, so you may or may not of heard of it before. The views looking back towards Kirkstone Pass were insane!

We followed the sign towards Angle Tarn.

There she is, in all her glory.. Angle Tarn! What a beautiful day we had, honestly I cannot believe how lovely the weather was. It was perfect hiking weather!

Then we headed back towards Place Fell.

You can just see Ullswater peaking through and Place Fell in the background. The views were breathtaking and I’m so glad we didn’t see many people up there.

And then lunch. My stomach was rumbling the whole way up. I only had a crumpet before we set off, so my ham and coleslaw sandwich soon disappeared.

Glenridding nestled in the hills. It really doesn’t get much better than this!

Urgh, my camera needs a clean! Those splodges are from dust on the lens. I’ll have to take it in to Wilkinson’s when normal life resumes.

It was so good to feel the sunshine no my face. The sun makes everything better.

Almost down! I wished I had taken my wet suit with me. Ullswater looked so lovely and calm. Next time for sure.. whenever that will be!

The walk along Ullswater was lovely, although longer than we anticipated. There are some really lovely spots where you can go and chill with a picnic and watch the world go by.

Hello! Long time no speak. Last week all kind of merged in to one and by the time I knew it, it was the weekend! Not that we can do much due to the lock down and although I resent not being able to work on the house or walk in the hills, I’m actually quite enjoying spending time at home, watching tele, drawing, painting, sleeping, eating, creating Tik Toks and just being present. So far, I’ve learnt how to French braid my hair and I’m going to practise with two plaits later. I love being able to have it out of the way and I think it looks quite nice after having slept on it too, as it doesn’t look too put together. I’ve been busy creating a list of all the things I want to do when this whole thing blows over. I’ll share those in a separate post though this week! I’ve tanned my face and my legs, which I never get time to do – or I used to feel like I never have time to do! It’s made me feel so much better about myself. And yeh.. that’s pretty much it! I had a flick through my diary from last year and we were preparing to fly to Thailand for a month. We hadn’t planned to go this year, which is a relief as Dad has cancelled his flight and my Mum is currently stuck out there until further notice. I don’t know when she’ll be home but I can’t see it being anytime soon. I still hope to get out there next Easter, although Josh thinks I’m being optimistic. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens! Anyway, hope you enjoyed my photos. Maybe you can add it to your list of walks for when we can get back outside. This was one of my favourites and if you want to view the walk you can see it here. We did take a little detour though to Angle Tarn which I would recommend! Speak soon, L.
