Hey! Finally, an incredibly beautiful day here in Sedbergh. Just what I needed for my day off… doing nothing! 😉 Haha, no that’s a total lie, I woke up early and went to the gym with my friend Emma and had another Thai lesson with Angela which I feel is finally sinking in to my brain. I’m learning all about bartering and asking the prices for taxis and thing’s like that which is really useful because in Thailand they do charge you more for being a ‘farrang’, which means Westerner. Then my Gran and I went for a short walk and stopped at a local pub for a g&t and for the rest of the day I have eaten, watched television and I de-veined (I think that is what it’s called) loads of prawns for Josh because I’m making him tempura prawns! My Mum showed me how to do it, you pull the head off and strip the prawn of it’s shell, then with a sharp knife you cut under the ‘belly’ from top to bottom and same again on the ‘spine’ of the prawn to remove it’s poo etc. It’s really stringy and reminds me of the black stuff I sometimes get in my eye after wearing heavy eye make up, haha gross! But he loves them and it’s the first time I’m making them so I hope they turn out ok. I even made the tempura batter, domestic goddess in the making ;-)! Love, L.
