Good morning loves! How’re you? I’ve just enjoyed breakfast in bed and caught up with Doctor Foster! The weather is glorious outside, which is a surprise after the rain and wind we’ve had here all week. Today I’ve got a few jobs to do, like renew my car insurance, sign up for the gym, finish painting the hallway and I’m also going to bake some Terry’s chocolate orange brownies. I thought I’d share some things with you that I’ve really been appreciating lately so here goes…
1. Lizzy Hadfield
It’s not often I find people who really inspire me but Lizzy Hadfield from www.shotfromthestreet.com has been a whirlwind of inspiration for me. Her blog is amazing! I love the layout, the way she handwrites over her own photos, how she photographs her week in film. I even love her YouTube and that Northern accent reminds me that the blogging industry isn’t just for the Southerners! I enjoy keeping up with her, following her every day to day vlogs and getting a real glimpse in to her life. She’s just so raw and that’s what I like, so go and check her out and let me know what you think!
2. Mario Badescu Facial Spray
I’ve never really been in to skin care but I find it so important now. Besides from my usual St Ives facial scrubs and Garnier heat masks, I have fallen in love with Mario’s facial mist. I bought it on a bit of a whim, having tweeted about my forever spotty face, a girl tweeted me about it. So for £7 from Beauty Bay I thought why not just give it a go! Honestly, besides from the odd spot or two I’ve had recently from my period my skin has cleared up so much – I definitely recommend this for anyone with combination skin (dry and oily). This is the only product I’ve found that really works for me and I’m excited to try more of the range.
3. Plants
I’m still waiting for our room to be completely finished, our blinds are being fitted on Wednesday and we’re in the process of designing our built in wardrobe. Once those two are complete, I’m going to start thinking about introducing more plants in to our room. I have a few that sit on the window sill but I’d absolutely love a big Aloe Vera plant or a Palm for my bedside table. I’ve also started growing some Basil too – the perfect accompaniment with chicken mayo.
4. The Scandinavian Look
Trainers, mom jeans, loose t-shirts, just basic pieces of clothing that work well and make you feel cosy! I’m all for throwing on a glam outfit and a bit of lippy but I’m aiming my wardrobe towards to Scandi Style because that’s what I’m liking the look of at the moment. Next on the ‘list to buy’ is a pair of white puma trainers and some chunky knitwear!
5. Power
Power has got to be my favourite series ever! More so than the Walking Dead (which starts again this month, yay!) Josh and I have been watching near enough every single night and have only just finished the last series. I wish we didn’t have to wait until next year for the next episode 🙁 So for those of you who haven’t got a clue what I’m talking about, Power is a series on Netflix that will get you hooked. It’s about a drug dealer in New York who lives a very lavish lifestyle, has a beautiful house and family and I guess he’s very easy on the eye too haha! However, theres always some problem on every episode and it leaves me feeling very emotionally distraught every single night which could explain why I haven’t been sleeping well lately.
