It’s the first evening where we have both decided to relax and not do any work on the house. I can’t believe it’s only been 9 days since we got the keys and we’ve already done so much to it. This week we ripped up almost all of the carpets, although we still have the smallest room to tear apart, carpets and wardrobe included, as well as the living room which we should hopefully get done this weekend. The bathroom is almost a shell but we do still need some help removing the shower cubicle and then we have the job of knocking the wall through from the living room to the kitchen. I’m at work tomorrow morning and then I’m going to get a food shop done, so I hope the majority of that is complete by the time I return home but we shall see! Anyway, I wanted to share these photos of the main guest bedroom. This will probably be our room to begin with, until we are ready to get our master bedroom completed. It’s a gorgeous room which lights up in the afternoon, allowing so much light to pass through the gorgeous timber sliding sash windows. We love the coving too but the only thing that irritates us is how it disappears behind the wardrobe. The plan is to now remove the wardrobe and try to get a replica piece to go across a new built in wardrobe. That or we redo the coving for the whole bedroom… which probably isn’t such a bad idea as I want to cove all of the bedrooms, as well as the living room and kitchen. We also plan on keeping all of the doors but replacing the glass and getting something a little more modern. I love the glass, it allows lots of light through on to the landing, which is needed as the staircase is super dark.. nothing a downlight or two won’t fix but natural light is always better! If you know of any replacement glass companies, let me know! I’m going to be doing some research over the weekend! Now, time for bed and an episode or two of Love Island. Enjoy your weekend! Lots of love, L.
