Scafell Pike from Wasdale Head

Hey my loves! How has your Sunday been? I walked up the tallest mountain in England today and I’m not going to lie… my feet are in pieces! We set off to Wasdale around 9am and collected Shaun (Josh’s friend) on the way. There are a few different ways up but because Wasdale has a lot of sentimental meaning to me, I wanted Wasdale to be the starting point. We parked at the Wasdale Head carpark, right next to the campsite and made our way up the mountain, following the Mickledore route which was really tough at some points. I was literally on all fours going up the scree incase I lost my footing and slipped, I didn’t even look back I was that nervous! There were lots of walkers at the summit, some even in t-shirts and jeans! Not sure how they didn’t freeze to death, it was really cold at the top! I even had to borrow Josh’s balaclava to keep my ears and face warm. The views all the way up were breathtaking! You can see Wastwater on one side and Derwentwater on the other once you reach the summit. It turned out to be a really good day for a hike and thankfully, no sign of any rain, yay! We tackled Scafell in 4 hours and 15 minutes, lunch break included! Of course we had to head to the pub for a pub dinner and a gin (or two!). I was a little jealous with Shaun’s and Josh’s burger because it looked bloody amazing! My choice of steak and ale pie with mash just didn’t compare to their juicy burgers. Now, we are finally home and showered and I think it’s time for bed! I can’t keep my eyes open! Hope you enjoyed the photographs. I plan on tackling another mountain next time I have a weekend off!  Can you recommend any hikes here in the Lakes? I’m a sucker for a good view! Hugs, L.
