As many of you reading this will know, I am half Thai and have been very blessed that my parents have been able to afford to take me to Thailand every single year since the day I was born.

There is nothing I love more than arriving at Bangkok airport and walking out the airport doors to the intense heat and the smell of Thailand. The atmosphere in Bangkok is indescribable and I can only say you need to have been there to know. If you’re heading out to Bangkok or planning a future trip there are a few things I would recommend doing..
Visit the Jim Thompson museum – if you are interested in the silk industry in Thailand or just curious about the process or perhaps the old architecture do take a few hours to visit. The easiest way would be to take the sky train as Bangkok streets are very hectic and it is probably the cheapest form of transport.
Take a tour of the Grand Palace – it is stunning! Appropriate clothing is required but is offered before you enter the temple grounds. Take plenty of water and suncream as there aren’t many areas that are shaded.
Have a burger at the Iron Fairies – I discovered this place on ‘valentina_muntoni’ instagram and knew it was somewhere I had to experience myself. I would recommend getting there early evening as it is only small.
Drink cocktails and enjoy the view at the Lebua Sky Bar – away from the hustle and bustle. The views are stunning so long as you don’t have vertigo! Take plenty of money as the cocktails are rather expensive but definitely worth it for the experience.

My favourite island, south-west of Thailand – Phuket. Hundreds of childhood memories swimming in the crystal blue water and walking on the flour like sand. After the devastating Tsunami that hit the island back in 2004, months after we were there, I was so afraid to go back and for years we avoided it. However, now I am sensible and know that these disasters don’t happen everyday we have been visiting Phuket for the last 5 years. My top 5 things to do whilst on the dreamy island of Phuket would be..

Book a boat trip to one of the surrounding islands or multiple islands! I’ve visited the majority and I would recommend all of them, however for somewhere a little quieter and more paradise like, get yourself to Koh Tachai or the Similan Islands, off the coast of Koh Lak. These trips are a little more expensive than others but I highly recommend them.

Rent a motorbike. You don’t get to see the island properly if you stick to the town you are in. We always stay in Patong, purely for its fairly central location to the main beaches and also nightlife Bangla Road! Beaches we found just spending the day discovering places were Nai Harn, my favourite cleanest beach on the island. Paradise beach, a little smaller and a tougher drive. View points such as Prom Thep Cape and Kata view point.

Visit the Big Buddha – yes its quite a trek but the drive is quite peaceful and the views from the top are incredible. You can almost see the island at a 360 degree view! Again, appropriate clothing is required.

Watch the sunset at the After Beach Bar – Great food with a stunning view. I would suggest arriving well before the sun is due to set as it gets quite full quickly.

Experience the food stalls at the markets. Some people tend to often stick to restaurants but if you go where the locals go you will find the most delicious food is served on the street. There is a great selection of food in Patong behind the Jungcelon shopping centre where you can for literally £2.

On my to see/to do list for next time I have come across ‘Baba Nest Rooftop Bar’ that I think would be the perfect place to watch the sunset, visit their website here to find out more.

My next trip to Thailand will be April 2017 and I can’t wait to get lots and lots of pictures for my blog and to find more incredible places to visit.

So jealous! Always love your photos of Thailand and I’ll definitely put some of these on my bucket list, I’m going in about two years on a big trip!
