Today I’m posting a short blog post about one of my most favourite walks in the Lake District. I completed Fairfield Horseshoe back in December 2014, in the thick snow and gorgeous blue skies. It was the most perfect day for a hike and I couldn’t turn down trying to burn off my Christmas fat from all the cheese and biscuits I had eaten.

I’ve been so busy lately that I’ve neglected my blog and have struggled with finding inspiration, so I’m sharing with you some of my favourite photo’s from my extremely difficult and tiring hike.

From the bottom, it was as if we had just jumped in to spring, the sun was shining and it was a crisp day. Perfect for a 6 hour walk. The higher we got, the more snow started to appear and we found ourselves thigh high in snow as some points. The views all the way around Fairfield Horseshoe are breathtaking and if you are going to attempt any walk in the Lakes, I would recommend this one.

I hope this has spurred anyone reading to get off the sofa and get outdoors because theres no better feelings that achieving a hike like this.
